Howrylak named “Friend of Retail” by Michigan Retailers Association

Pledges continued support for the Industry

Troy, MI — Today, the Martin Howrylak for State Representative campaign announced the support of the Michigan Retailers Association in his re-election campaign to the 41st State House District.

Howrylak said, “It has been a great honor and a privilege to work with the retail industry to promote economic growth and job creation. I look forward to continuing to work with the Michigan Retailers Association, and retailers throughout the district, in the years to come as we continue to grow as a district and as a state.”

The Michigan Retailers Association (MRA) announced 70 members of the State House of Representatives as “Friend” of the industry earlier this week.

William J. Hallan, MRA Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel said, “Michigan Retailers Association looks forward to working with these legislators next year as part of our mission to promote, protect and grow the retail industry here in Michigan.”

The Michigan Retailers Association represents nearly 5,000 members and their more than 15,000 stores and websites in Michigan. Retail is directly responsible for more than 850,000 jobs in Michigan’s economy, and one-fourth of Michigan jobs are supported directly and indirectly by retail sales. Eighteen percent of Michigan’s total economic activity (GDP) comes from retail.

The primary election will be held on August 5th and the General Election onNovember 4th.  Martin Howrylak and his wife Jane live in Troy, where Martin was born and raised. He currently represents the 41st district in the State Legislature and also served as a city councilman in Troy from 2000-2011. He is a certified public accountant (CPA). He has been endorsed by several business groups, including the National Federation of Independent Businesses of Michigan, the Associated Builders and Contractors of Michigan as well as many others.
